Leadership Team

Diversey Inc. is led by an executive committee composed of:

S. Curtis Johnson
Chairman


Curt Johnson has a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Cornell University and a master of arts degree in business in marketing/finance from Northwestern University. Curt joined S.C. Johnson in 1983 and co-founded Wind Point Partners, L.P., a $126 million venture capital partnership in which the company was a major limited partner. Wind Point is now managing its fourth $400 million fund. In 1989, Curt was named Director-Worldwide Business Development for S.C. Johnson Wax where he played a key role in the $1.2 billion acquisition of the Drackett company. In 1993, Curt was named Vice President & Managing Director - Mexican Johnson, a subsidiary of S.C. Johnson Wax, where he significantly increased sales and profits. In 1995, he became Vice President & Managing Director - Business Development, for the Professional and Polymer divisions of the company. In this position, he was responsible for developing a new vision and mission for these units and led the transformation programs. In 1996, he was named Chairman of Commercial Markets, Inc., overseeing both the Professional and Polymer businesses.

In 2002, he lead the initiative that resulted in the $1.6 billion acquisition of DiverseyLever, which at the time was the second largest company in the I&I market. This acquisition has more than doubled the size of Commercial Markets and positioned the company for industry leadership. In addition, Curt serves on the Board of Directors of Cargill, Inc.

Edward F. Lonergan
President/Chief Executive Officer


Ed Lonergan joined Diversey Inc. in 2006 after nearly four years as president of the European region for The Gillette Company where he was directly accountable for more than $3.8 billion in sales revenue, generating double-digit compound annual growth. He and his team led strong improvements in brand equity and strategic customer growth while significantly enhancing the operational efficiency of the European region.

Prior to The Gillette Company, Ed spent 21 years with The Procter & Gamble Company, where he held a variety of leadership positions both domestically and internationally, including general management roles in customer business development and in developing markets.

Ed graduated from Union College in New York in 1981 with a bachelor of arts degree in political science. He is married with two adult children.

Norman Clubb
Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer
Norman Clubb became Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in January 2010. In his role with Diversey he is responsible for finance, internal controls, asset management, information technology, and mergers and acquisitions.

Norm was a JohnsonDiversey director from February 2007 until November 2009, serving as an appointee of Unilever NV.

Earlier in his career, Norm served from 1989 to 1996 as Senior Vice President for Finance and Operations for the Diversey Corporation. He later held the position of Senior Vice President for Finance and Supply Chain for DiverseyLever from 1996 to 1999, the period immediately following Unilever’s acquisition of the Diversey business.

Norm most recently served as President and Chief Operating Officer for Unilever Food Solutions in North America and Latin America. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President of Finance for Unilever's Foods Division from 2000 to 2004. He also held the roles of Senior Vice President of Finance for Unilever’s Central Asia and Middle East Business Group from 1999 to 2000.


Gregory F. Clark
Senior Vice President, Global Value Chain 

Gregory Clark has served as Diversey's Senior Vice President, Global Value Chain since January 2004. Previously, he was Senior Vice President, Global Development and Customer Solutions from May 2002 to January 2004. From May 1999 to May 2002, Greg was Vice President, Global Manufacturing and Sourcing.

He also worked for 21 years for S.C. Johnson in a variety of roles, including manufacturing, operations and financial positions, both domestically and internationally. Greg has a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Chicago.

James W. Larson
Senior Vice President, Global Human Resources

Jim Larson joined Diversey in May 2007. In his current role, Jim serves as Senior Vice President of Global Human Resources with responsibility to enhance and develop the capability of our business through our employees. He is directly responsible for the company's talent management process, including acquisition, rewards, development and effectiveness.

Jim has more than 25 years of human resources leadership experience in a number of leading companies. Prior to joining Diversey, Jim was the head of global HR for InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), where he was based in London, England. Before joining IHG, Jim served at Kellogg's in Battle Creek, Michigan, where he began as the head of North American HR and was then promoted to global executive vice president of HR. Prior to these roles he held numerous HR leadership positions for major companies, including American Express, Frito Lay/PepsiCo and Pfizer Pharmaceuticals.

 

Jim graduated from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, earning a bachelor of science degree in management and a master or arts degree in business. Following graduate school, Jim served for four years as an officer in the U.S. Army.

 

John W. Matthews
Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Chief of Staff to the President

John Matthews joined Diversey in May 2002. In his current role, he serves as a senior advisor to President and CEO Ed Lonergan and is responsible for global communications, environment, health and safety, regulatory compliance, government affairs, facilities and security. 

Before joining Diversey, John was national director of public affairs for the Milwaukee-based law firm Foley & Lardner. Previously, he served as Chief of Staff to Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson. Prior to entering public service, John was a news reporter at several Wisconsin newspapers.

John is a member of the Board of Directors for Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee, the Racine YMCA, and Cleanwise, a Massachusetts-based company that specializes in Web-based procurement.

Scott D. Russell
Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary

Scott Russell has been Diversey's Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary since January 2007. He also has been Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Holdings since January 2007. He was Senior Counsel from May 2006 through December 2006.

Before joining Diversey, Scott was Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Secretary for RR Donnelley, a global full-service provider of print and related services, including business process outsourcing. Prior to that position, Scott was an associate in the corporate practice group of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP & Associates. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in economics and political science from Alma College and a juris doctor degree from the University of Detroit School of Law.


Nabil Shabshab
Executive Vice President, Global Portfolio Management

Nabil Shabshab has been Diversey's Executive Vice President, Global Portfolio Management since September 2009. From January 2007 to August 2009, Nabil was Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. Prior to that time, he was Vice President of Global Marketing. Nabil has more than 21 years of experience in general management, sales and marketing strategy, brand management, and strategy consulting.

Before joining Diversey, Nabil served as Principal of Zyman Group, a leading international management consulting firm. Prior to that position, he was Vice President of Client Solutions & Consulting at Information Resources Inc., and held various global sales and marketing positions with such Fortune 100 companies as Pfizer Pharmaceutical Company and the Coca-Cola Company. Nabil has a bachelor of science degree in computer science from the American Lebanese University and a master of business administration degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Chicago.

 

John Alexander
Regional President, Americas

John Alexander has served as Regional President-Americas since October 2008. Prior to joining Diversey, John served as Vice President and General Manager, New Business and Innovation, North America with Whirlpool Corporation. Before that, he served as Whirlpool's Vice President and General Manager-Brand Management, a position that included all U.S.-branded businesses. While with Whirlpool, John also served in a number of other managerial positions in planning, merchandising and product development.

 

John holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Ohio Northern University and a master of business administration from Ohio State University. 

 

Pedro Chidichimo
Regional President, Europe, Middle East and Africa

Pedro Chidichimo has served as Diversey's Regional President–Europe, Middle East, Africa since October 2006. Pedro, who joined the company in 1994, has served as Regional President–Latin America from July 2005 until October 2006, Vice President of our Southern & Andina Latin America sub-region from 2002 until June 2005, and as managing director of our Argentina operations from 1997 until June 2005. 


Pedro holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Universidad de Buenos Aires and a master of business administration from Universidad Austral in Argentina.

 

Moreno Dezio
Regional President, Greater Asia Pacific


Moreno G. Dezio has served as Diversey's Regional President-Greater Asia Pacific since January 2009. Prior to that time, he was Regional President–Americas for two years, starting in January 2007. Moreno has also served as Vice President North Europe & Managing Director U.K. from November 2005 to December 2006.

 

From November 1996 through October 2005, Moreno served in numerous senior management positions, most recently as Vice President for Africa & Middle East from June 2002 until October 2005, and Group Managing Director for Italy, Greece and Central Eastern Europe from November 1996 to May 2002. From March 1993 to October 1996 he served as Marketing Manager Europe for Johnson Wax Professional and prior to that he covered several sales and marketing positions at SCJ and JWP.
